Hey there!
Firstly I just want to say how crazy it is, that it’s already November? I mean, where did the time go?! I feel like every year you think “Geez the year went quickly” and well, 2017 was no exception. I’m not completely mad about it though because it just means that Christmas is very soon. (Yay) So, hello November!
Because my first blog post was more of a welcome post to anyone reading, I thought my second one should let readers in a bit more and one to get to know whoever this ‘CC’ person is.
So, CC who? If you haven’t read the ‘about’ page yet, let me introduce myself. My name is Chelsea, middle name Claire (after my mum) therefore CC, which is the name of my blog. I’m a 21-year-old (22 in March next year!) Australian living in Austria. I have a funny grey cat and an amazing Austrian partner who just happens to be my best friend.
How did I end up in Austria? Well, it’s a pretty long story actually and one that might just have to be a whole blog post in itself, but I’ll tell you a little. Short version: I fell in love with an Austrian guy, five years ago. This sounds pretty cheesy and I apologise haha but it really did happen that way. I was an exchange student in 2012 living with his family, we became instant best friends and it was kind of bound to happen really.
Skip forward a couple of years of time apart and time together, here I am. After finishing high school at the end of 2014, I pretty much got on a plane – only 2 days after graduation by the way) to come over here to be with him. (Of course with the endless love, encouragement, and support of my amazing parents) Things have definitely not been easy over the years but we have always managed to stay together and we always will.
For many, learning a language comes quite naturally, but for me, I’ve had to work very hard to get to the level I am today. Even still, it’s not quite where I want it to be and I have a long way to go. I have been learning German for a couple of years while living in Austria- which is an amazing help in itself, being surrounded by the language every day. For two years I really wanted to focus on learning German, which is what I did and I have no regrets. Who knows, maybe one day I’ll do a post in German.. we shall see.
Right now? Max and I live in beautiful Vienna with our crazy grey cat, Oscar. We are both studying and absolutely love living in this city. Vienna has my heart! I love checking out new cafes around the city (I’ve become somewhat of a coffee addict since moving to Europe) and wandering around the gorgeous streets. As the weather gets colder here, I’m reminded that back home in Australia it’s getting warmer. Don’t get me wrong, the white Christmas here is amazing but crazy cold! So, Max and I absolutely cannot wait to be going home to celebrate this year. Is anyone else a massive Christmas fan? I lovee it.
Well, that’s it for now! Give yourself a pat on the back for reading this far if you did, because I really appreciate it. Until next time,
– CC.
