Another year has absolutely flown by, what the heck?! 2018 was a whirlwind of a year with lots of highs and some lows too but all in all, a pretty good year. So many great memories were made and now January 2019 has also come and gone. Hi February!
I don’t know about you, but I have a good feeling about this new year! I just wanted to say to you, anyone reading this: Happy New Year. A little late, but nonetheless- I truly hope 2019 brings you happiness and new and exciting experiences. If January was not all that exciting, there is still time to change it.
I kinda love that each year gives you the chance to really reflect on what you did the year before, but perhaps things you would like to work on. This year I have a few goals and things I want to achieve. I want to make a conscious effort to get out of my comfort zone! I’m young and I have a lot I want to experience this year. Go out more/ say yes more when invited, just go out of my way to make connections with new, like-minded and exciting people. I want to do something crazy (not too crazy haha) but swim in a cold lake, or I don’t know – just something I normally wouldn’t do. I feel like it is so important to take chances- to experience life to its full. Been thinking about something- do it!
When I was a young 16-year-old exchange student, I always said YES and did crazy things, but had the best year of my life. Now looking back, I miss that year- and that version of me. Yes, be sensible haha but have a damn good time. Life is too short people! Do what you want, live your life how you want to and who cares what others think. Honestly, It’s super easy to get caught up in following the standard straight line life for fear of judgment- but it is your life! Think and say what you want to and you live how you want to. I am taking inspiration from my teenage self.
I don’t know where I am really going with this- I just wanted to voice what I have been thinking for a while. I am young and I have a life to experience. “Today is the oldest you’ve ever been, and the youngest you’ll ever be again.” ―
Take chances, go out of your comfort zone every once in a while! You might surprise yourself.
2019 Is a new and exciting year, I hope you make it one to remember.
